Research: Representation.

Outline the 'characters' that appear in your text (protagonist and secondary characters).
How will they be represented? Will you create them as stereotypes? Why? How?
Within our media text throughout the entire music video it will only contain one character which is a girl. She is our protagonist and we will have no secondary characters shown. The girl will be filmed for all of the video and will be represented through negative ideas of relationships and love, such as heartbreak and alone. The lyrics in the video are all about being hurt from love and being in a relationship such as "Who do you think you are? Running around leaving scars? Collecting your jar of hearts and tearing love apart." Therefore this is exactly what we will be making our actor demonstrate, that the character she is has had her heartbroken and that she is feeling very, lonely and upset. Because of the way the character in our text is being represented I suppose this could create her as a stereotype to the audience of girls that are feel down and look upset we interpret automatically that it is something to do with a boy. Therefore she could been seen as a stereotype of many girls that feel this way when boys hurt them. Also, as in the video our character will be filmed looking around for this boy showing that she wants to find him even though he has hurt her, this is a stereotype of girls that still go running back to their ex-boyfriends even though they treat them like rubbish.
