Question Four. Evaluation. Joanna.

How did you use media Technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?

Since the beginning we have used different technologies to enhance our work, both media text and print work.

Firstly we have used the Apple Macs which enabled us to use all sorts of technology that included, Photo shop, InDesign, Safari, Final Cut, Word and Powerpoint. This helped us to create the best media text we could, that used a professional quality within the program and our work. I am really happy we got the chance to use the Macs, as they are so powerful and fast, which is what we needed for our work.

At the beginning we used Google, to research about what kind of genre we wanted to base our work on. We looked at the charts to see what was big and what people were enjoying. It enabled us to find the record label for Christina Perri, and email them, however we never received a reply. The internet also allowed us to  use YouTube which enabled us to observe videos that we used to base our genre on and to find out what genre we enjoyed. We also used blogger through the internet also to blog our evidence and what work we had done, plus we used slide share to enable our powerpoints to appear on the blog, to show evidence of our work. I found the internet a great help with all this, as it was fast and easy to use.




We used photoshop to edit and enhance our print work depending on what we wanted to do. I found photoshop rather easy to use as i have used it for a while. It definitely helped us with creating a more professional piece of work to connect with our media text. We also used InDesign to edit our work, and to use the CD template to work around, and to understand what size we would be working with. I found InDesign hard to use at first, but quickly got use to it and how the program worked.




We also used Word and Powerpoint to explain our work and produce it in a better format to look interesting and different. I did find Powerpoint unusual to use as i dont really use it that much. Our work from Word and Powerpoint then went onto blogger, again to look incredibly professional, instead of work on paper.

The equipment we used were a HD camera, that we used for the studio shots, this was incredibly effective with a beautiful quality. We also used a less effective camera for the location shots, this was a shame as it did make some of our shots blurry, however, we did think that 'blurriness' fitted within our music video. We also used studio lights and tripods to create the best shot, and make sure it was a brilliant picture. We did use my Canon camera, which were a lot better than the college cameras. With this camera we captured our print work shots and i dont think we could have got a better shot if we used the colleges cameras.







We used Final Cut Express from the beginning to edit our work and produce our final piece. We also used it to produce the Directors Commentary, and both did take a lot of time. I did find Final Cut extremely hard to use, and it did take me while to come to terms with it. We also used dafont.com to find our perfect font, that kept the feel to our work, and genre.
